Some challenges for 2019

The primary purpose of this blog is to develop from a series of personal challenges between two brothers, into international challenges that get people going in many ways.

Whether it’s competing against yourself or each other for a bet, a challenge is a great way to help keep you on track and provide a little motivation and purpose for the year.

Some of our (Jeremy and Andy) challenges this year include:

  1. 1,200 miles in 2019 – covering 1,200 miles under our own steam, be it running, cycling, swimming or some other form of human propelled transport;
  2. 100 work-outs in 100 days. Perfect to start the year recovering from the Christmas indulgences, in this challenge we aim to do 100 workouts (defined as a 5km run or equivalent) in 100 days. This could be tough!
  3. 365 beers in 365 days. Challenges aren’t always about fitness, in this challenge we are pushing the taste buds and trying to drink 365 unique beers in 365 days. Given Jeremy lives on a small island with only two breweries some travel will be necessary. Andy has already decided this challenge may be a step too far and he’d rather stick to beers he likes;
  4. Personal best challenges: including 5k, 1/2 marathon, and triathlon times;
  5. A half Ironman for Andy. Jeremy did one 9 years ago and Andy wants to beat his time (definitely doable…);
  6. Meat free May – an attempt at some healthier eating by Andy, Jeremy’s not so sure the occasional steak is not healthy;
  7. 52 challenge blog posts on this site. This counts for the first!
